كيف تختار سرير طفل مناسبًا، وماذا تفحص قبل شراء سرير مستعمل؟
اختيار سرير الطفل لا يعتمد على الشكل أو السعر وحدهما. ابدأ بتحديد استخدامه: نوم يومي، سفر، مهد صغير للرضيع، أم مساحة لعب. ثم راجع تعليمات الموديل وحدود الاستخدام وحالة كل جزء. لا يضمن أي منتج أو فحص إزالة جميع المخاطر.

١. العمر والحجم وتطور الحركة
العمر وحده ليس معيارًا كافيًا. راجع حدود الوزن والطول ومراحل الحركة لكل وضع على حدة، بما فيها المهد العلوي ومساحة اللعب ووحدة تغيير الحفاض. توقف عن استخدام أي وضع عند بلوغ أول حد تحدده الشركة، سواء كان وزنًا أو طولًا أو قدرة حركية مثل الدفع باليدين أو الجلوس أو التسلق. اخفض قاعدة السرير فقط وفق تعليماته، ولا تفترض أن حدود وضع اللعب تنطبق على المهد.
٢. المساحة وسهولة النقل والثبات
قِس المساحة المتاحة وأبعاد المنتج وهو مفتوح، وليس وهو مطوي فقط. إذا كنت ستنقله بين الغرف أو في السيارة، قارن الوزن والحجم بعد الطي وطريقة فتح الأقفال. ركّبه بالكامل حسب الدليل على سطح مستوٍ، وتأكد من ثبات القاعدة وإغلاق جميع أقفال الجوانب والطي؛ لا تستخدمه إذا كان يهتز أو ينهار أحد جوانبه. افحص فرامل العجلات إن وُجدت واستخدمها حسب التعليمات. أبعده عن حبال الستائر والنوافذ والمدافئ.
٣. المرتبة: المقاس والصلابة أهم من السُمك
يلزم سطح نوم صلب ومسطح، ومرتبة مطابقة للمقاس الذي تحدده الشركة من دون فراغات عند الجوانب. استخدم ملاءة مشدودة ملائمة فقط، وضع الرضيع على ظهره للنوم، وأبقِ مساحة النوم خالية من الوسائد والمصدّات والألعاب والبطاطين السائبة ومثبتات الوضعية. لا تضف وسادة أو لحافًا تحت الطفل.
في أسرّة السفر وساحات اللعب، استخدم المرتبة أو القاعدة المرفقة وثبّتها وفق الدليل. لا تضف مرتبة ثانية أو حشوة لتليين السطح؛ قد تتكون فجوات تسبب الانحشار. رقة المرتبة وحدها ليست سببًا لاستبدالها. لا تستخدم بديلًا غير مخصص للموديل.
٤. هل مساحة اللعب مناسبة للنوم؟
كلمة «Playpen» أو «متعدد الاستخدامات» لا تكفي لإثبات ملاءمة المنتج للنوم. تحقق من أن الشركة تخصص الموديل والوضع المستخدم لنوم الرضع، ومن تعليمات تجميعه وحدود استخدامه. وحدة تغيير الحفاض ليست سطح نوم. افحص الشبك والوصلات قبل الاستخدام، واتبع تعليمات الإشراف أثناء اللعب. الإشراف لا يجعل سطحًا غير مخصص للنوم مناسبًا له.
٥. قائمة فحص السرير المستعمل قبل الشراء
- اطلب اسم الشركة ورقم الموديل وملصق التصنيع ودليل التجميع. افحص تنبيهات الاستدعاء لدى الشركة والجهة المختصة بالسوق الذي بيع فيه المنتج؛ يمكن الرجوع إلى CPSC للموديلات المباعة في الولايات المتحدة.

Choosing a crib or travel cot, and checking a used crib
Start with the intended use: everyday sleep, travel, a small infant bassinet, or a play space. Check the exact model’s instructions, usage limits and condition, not just appearance or price. 1. Age, size and developmental mobility
Age alone is not enough. Check weight, height and developmental limits separately for the bassinet insert, main cot, playpen and changer. Stop using each mode at the first limit specified by the manufacturer, including movement milestones such as pushing up, sitting or climbing. Lower a crib base only as instructed. A playpen’s limits do not automatically apply to its bassinet.
2. Space, portability and stability
Measure the available room and the product’s open dimensions, not only its folded size. For travel or moving between rooms, compare carrying weight, folded size and locking mechanisms. Assemble fully on a level surface and check that the base is secure and every folding or side lock engages. Do not use a unit that wobbles or has a collapsing side. Check and use wheel brakes as instructed. Keep it away from blind cords, windows and heaters.
3. Mattress fit and a clear sleep space
Use a firm, flat sleep surface with the exact mattress size specified for the model and no gaps around the edges. Place infants on their backs for sleep, with only a properly fitted sheet. Keep pillows, bumpers, toys, loose blankets and positioning devices out. Never put a quilt or pillow underneath the baby.
For travel cots and play yards, use the supplied mattress or base and secure it as instructed. Never add a second mattress or padding for comfort: this can create entrapment gaps. A thin mattress is not, by itself, a reason to replace it. Do not use a replacement that is not intended for that model.
4. Playpen use is not automatically sleep use
“Playpen” or “multifunction” in a name does not establish suitability for infant sleep. Confirm that the manufacturer intends the exact product and configuration for sleep, and follow its assembly instructions and limits. A changing attachment is not a sleep surface. Check mesh and joints before use and follow supervision instructions for play. Supervision does not turn an unsuitable surface into a suitable sleep space.
5. Before buying secondhand
- Obtain the manufacturer, model number, manufacturing label and assembly manual. Check manufacturer recalls and the relevant authority for the market where it was sold; CPSC is a reference for models sold in the US.
- Inspect it fully assembled, not just in photographs. Check all original screws, supports and locks. Reject broken or loose parts, improvised repairs and modifications.
- Look for cracked or missing slats, torn mesh and a sagging or damaged base. Avoid traditional drop-side cribs; do not confuse these with modern bedside sleepers that have their own specific attachment instructions.
- Check mattress fit and condition: firm, flat, no sagging, tears or water damage, and no edge gaps. The Lullaby Trust recommends a new mattress for each baby. For travel cots, do not add a generic mattress in place of the model-specific base.
- Walk away if the model, completeness or instructions cannot be verified, a recall issue remains unresolved, or stability is doubtful. Cleanliness and a low price do not replace these checks.
